Purpose of the Course

Grief can have profound and lasting effects on an employeeʼs health, focus, energy and identity, impacting their performance and retention. 

This coaching course offers a psychologically safe space to process grief, explore practical coping tools, and plan a compassionate return to meaningful work. 

Who it is for

This course supports employees who have experienced a bereavement — helping them process their grief, develop resilience, integrate their loss into the new normal and feel more supported in returning to or sustaining work. It also helps employers retain valuable staff, reduce long-term absence, and foster a culture of compassion and wellbeing.

  • 8 weekly 11 grief coaching sessions 60 minutes) as part of return to work plan 
  • Access to printable reflection and resilience tools 
  • End-of-programme coaching summary (optional with employee consent) 
  • Optional liaison with HR or line manager to support work reintegration (with consent)

Course Outline

Week 1  Holding Space Creating safety, establishing the coaching relationship, assessing grief characteristics and current impact 

Week 2  Understanding Grief Exploring grief models, myths, emotional processing, and validating personal response 

Week 3  Grief at Work Navigating grief in the workplace, expectations vs reality, boundaries and triggers 

Week 4  Identify After Loss Exploring role loss, relational shifts and internal self-concept post-bereavement 12 

Week 5  Emotional Regulation Tools to help regulate emotions founded in CBT, NLP and hypnotherapy and somatic techniques. 

Week 6  Rebuilding Energy & Routine, Grief Integration Developing routines that support healing, reflection on values and self-care 

Week 7  Future Focus & Grief Integration Gentle future visioning, anchoring meaning, hope and purpose Ikigai influenced) 

Week 8  Review & Reconnection Reflecting on the journey, identifying next steps, communicating needs at work. 

Group Online Grief Coaching

Supporting staff through compulsory redundancy, loss of a work colleague, or significant life event. This supportive online group coaching session offers a safe and compassionate space for employees experiencing grief due to redundancy or the loss of a colleague. Whether processing the shock of organisational change or mourning a valued team member, participants will be guided through emotional resilience tools, shared reflection, and coping strategies to navigate uncertainty, preserve wellbeing, and begin to rebuild meaning in their work and lives. Delivered virtually, this session is ideal for teams affected by transitions and loss who need structured support during difficult times so they can perform their work. 

Rooted in her lived experience, Vicky created her Grief courses to equip organisations with compassionate and actionable ways to support employees through life transitions. It is delivered with a high degree of empathy, blending emotional insight with practical guidance.
